Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Birthday and… Happy Anniversary

I think that takes care of all the holidays for some time.  The kids went back to school today so it gives me time to catch up on the latest.  It was sad to see them go this morning.  We didn’t want to get out of bed let alone go out in the cold weather, but we did and its back to the old grind.

We had such a wonderful Christmas.  We had our traditional Christmas Eve at my Mom’s, which she always does such a great job.  So much yummy food and such a special night.  The kids loved getting their Christmas Eve jammies and watching Christmas shows and playing games, But then it was off to bed to wait for Santa.

Christmas morning they were up and ready to go by 7:30, but so sad for them they had to wait for Chase.  He didn’t wake up until 8:30.   I didn’t do the best this year with the camera.  But I did get lots of video.

It was the such a nice relaxing day.  We hung out at home, then we to see Cloudy with a chance of meat balls at the dollar flick (yeah! I am so happy to have those back) and headed up to SL to visit Dave’s family.

We stayed that night at my Mom’s because the next day was Colton’s BIRTHDAY!!  Wow, 11 years old.  We had lunch with Grandpa Packer and the Packer gang and then hung out in SL.  It was a nice day.  I am so proud of Colton, he is such a great kid.

So then we have New Year’s Eve.  Which is a holiday that we just don’t normally stay up for.  Colton and Morgan however are young and strong and LOVE to stay up late.  So we invited some friends over and partied like it was 1999!  We had some good food, games and of course the bubbly. (apple cider that is).  But guess who was asleep and couldn’t be stirred?  Colton, he was out.  I tried to wake him up but he just went right back to sleep.  It was the best, we did save him some bubbly for the next day.

Last but not least is our anniversary.  This year we celebrated 12 years on Jan. 2nd!  We have a deal that we take turns on planning what we do.  So this year was Dave (it being his first turn since we just made the deal last year).  And I have to say he did an awesome job!  We had such a great day.  We went and saw Sherlock Holmes, went to a late lunch early dinner at Red Robin. And then we went to the BYU men’s basketball game and ended the night with Cold Stone.  He did such a great job, thanks babe it has been a wonderful 12 years!
