Summer Bible Camp

Well... to make a long story short, I sent Colton and Morgan to bible camp this week.

Welcome to the South!

We meet the pastor of The People's Church at a movie in the park, and he told us all about their kids summer camp.  He told us it didn't matter what denomination we were.  Now Dave and I are thinking, "yeah right!  We will just brainwash your kids!" It sounded like it would fun, with lots of fun things for the kids to do.

So Monday I took them up to Franklin and signed them up and stuck around to make sure they would be okay.

They start out the day with a bible story and prayer.  Which Morgan was not to sure about.  She thought it was a little different because they don't fold their arms, they clasped their hands together and keep their eyes open.  She said it made her feel a little funny. Then singing time.  And according to Morgan singing time is nothing like primary.

Tuesday night sitting at dinner, Morgan asked if we could go to The People's Church.  Dave ask, like when on Sunday?  That was her idea.  Dave informed her that we go to our church on Sunday's.  I'm thinking maybe this wasn't such a good idea.

When I picked them up Wednesday, they had done a little prayer pillow in craft class.  It was great, with a nice big cross on it.  The kids said they had to put it on.  Of course they aren't going to say anything.  The funniest was when their dad saw it.  Needless to say we had a little chat about our church not using the cross, and removed them from the pillows.

Thursday we decided to take a break from Bible camp, but this morning Morgan was ready to go for their last day. A Coke party! Great! :)

What an experience.  No worries though, I can't wait to take my kids to church on Sunday!  Oh, and there is even a primary activity on Saturday.  Whew!

I went to bible camp with my next door neighbor every summer, but oddly enough she never came to church with me... It is interesting living in the South isn't it! I hope the kids had a good time. Thanks goodness for primary :)

I will never let my kids go to VBS. Not with what I have learned in the south. Too bad our EFC at our church didn't last a whole week. Love ya guys.

Don't worry! My kids went to Catholic school for years. They know what they believe and plus, it's a great opportunity to be an example of just how normal we are.

And hey, what's a little idol worship gonna hurt;)

You'd better check and make sure that they didn't put any little bugs under their skin to be able to "influence" them for good. It's kind of like how we used to check you kids for ticks at the cabin. Born again bugs and ticks. Not good

I think it will help your kids have a better testimony of our Saviour. What a great thing to let them see that there are others that believe different than we do. I think you have taught them well their whole lives. It's a wonderful learning experience for them. You probably get to answer all sorts of questions, that they wouldn't have thought of before. You two are such great parents!!
