It is always an adventure

We are home safe and doing well. Last week was a true adventure. I don't think that I got more than 8 hours of sleep all week, some of the time sleeping in a pull out chair and then snuggling up with Cha in his bed. We had our fair share of slushies, hospital food and Diet Cokes with hospital ice. We watched movies, played video games, finished a book and took long afternoon naps.

We had the best nurses in the whole hospital. They made everything so nice for Cha. He was the cutest, and best patient.
(Jess, Chase's favorite Nurse)
I was so lucky to have my own personal blanket warmer and shower outside our door. Dave however, needed a lesson in locking the shower door. Housekeeping got a show that morning. The Nurse and I could not stop laughing.
Tuesday they took out his chest tube, and the IV that was in his neck going to his heart giving him blood pressure meds. That gave him a little more freedom in moving around, and made him so happy.
Mid week we had to have another Echo to make sure that everything had gotten fixed good. He was being such a good boy and the tech commented that he was the best one that she had had all day. She also said "that his heart looked so beautiful." Chase's response. "Hank's, it's not broken anymore."
By Wednesday he was off pain meds, and cruising up and down the ocean and jungle halls. By Friday he was ready to go home. Chest x-rays were finally clear and we got packed up and headed home.
We are so blessed that everything went well. We had so many prayers and visits that made such a difference. I couldn't have made it without all of you who love Chase so much.
